Leaf shapes can be made into snow crystal forms by extracting an outline of the leaf and manipulating it through symmetry operations. 

 

A single leaf-snowcrystal can have intricate internal "architecture."

 

Multiple crystals recall the famous book of snow crystal photographs by W.A. Bentley and W.J. Humphries.
